In this section, we briefly introduce the existing approaches for certificate revocation, which are classified into two categories: voting based mechanism and non-voting-based mechanism. The so-called voting-based mechanism is defined as the means of revoking a malicious attacker’s certificate through votes from valid neighboring nodes. Star Student Project proposed a voting-based mechanism to evict nodes. The certificates of newly joining nodes are issued by their neighbors.
