Hence, our Star Student Project is suited for applications that can tolerate a certain delay in state estimation, such as smoothing, off-line state estimation, attack and fault detection in a distributed setting, and output control for systems with slow dynamics. Our Star Student Project is inspired by our earlier investigation of waveform relaxation methods and it combines decentralized control techniques with waveform relaxation methods developed for parallel numerical integration.
