In fact, there have already been proposals from the perspective of data center engineering to offer bandwidth guarantees for egress traffic from a virtual machine (VM), as well as among VM themselves. Under such a context, Star Student Project analyze the benefits and address open challenges of cloud bandwidth auto-scaling for VoD applications in this paper. In a nutshell, the benefits of bandwidth auto-scaling are intuitive. (a),traditionally, a VoD provider acquires a monthly plan from ISPs, in which a fixed bandwidth capacity Gbps, is guaranteed to accommodate the anticipated peak demand.
